Job Description

The Senior Financial Accountant will support the current Comptroller with accounting functions including cost, payables, receivables, and reporting to ensure the smooth running of the business from a financial and contract compliance perspective. We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented professional who takes the initiative and is a team player. Growth opportunity with path to a Comptroller within 12 months.

This is an in-house position located in Faifax, VA.

The salary range is $90K to $105K.

Responsibilities:

v Preparing financial reports and analyses for external entities and for senior management.

v Monitoring budgets to ensure compliance with authorized expenditure levels and accuracy of projected revenue for possible overruns and shortfalls of revenue.

v Contributing to the development and maintenance of financial reporting, planning, and budgeting systems.

v Maintaining an accurate and timely understanding of governmental accounting principles and practices, as well as associated best practices.

v Managing financial control mechanisms to monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure adherence to financial goals.

v Collaborating with management to identify and assess project risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.

v Coordinating with executive management and shareholders to gather financial information, analyze data and general and special reports.

v Complying with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements as well as internal Company policies and procedures.

v Work with the external tax accountants in the preparation of quarterly estimates and annuals returns,

v Providing guidance and support to the Controller regarding financial planning, budget allocation and risk assessment.

v Function as the liaison to DCAA and DCMA for financial matters. Prepare the annual provisional indirect rate request and the Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) to DCAA.

v Function as liaison to the corporate bank in preparing monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports.

v Function as liaison to the corporation insurance broker on non-benefit police.

v Assist with proposal pricing.

v Protecting operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

v Collaborating closely with the Controller and payroll department to ensure successful continuity of operations and management of special projects, as assigned.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

v 5 - 8 years of progressive experience using accounting applications or fiscal principles and practices.

v Experience with government accounting practice and procedures is required.

v Experience with Deltek Costpoint is required.

v Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

v Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

v Proficient with budgeting and forecasting; ability to analyze and manipulate data and resolve problems.

Education:

v Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Other Requirements:

v Must be a U.S. Citizen (and able to obtain a future security clearance)
